Gunter Sachs, well-known as businessman, photographer, filmmaker and bon vivant, was also a passionate art collector.
Since the 1950s, he started to equip his extravagant apartment in Paris with artwork, until the space could no longer withstand his passion as a collector. An adventurous journey begins, starting with his interest for the Nouveau Réalisme und the Art Informel, to the fascination for the rebels of Pop Art and the art of graffiti writings.
This life full of art is displayed in his numerous estates and also in his functions as gallery owner, museums board and patron of the arts.
In cooperation with the Gunter Sachs Estate, the Institute for Cultural Exchange presents important pieces of the Gunter Sachs Collection. The allocation is comprised of canvases, graphic art, sculptures, photography and graffiti – from the surrealists to the representatives of contemporary art.
