On the occasion of their 140th anniversary in 2008, IWC Schaffhausen launched the Vintage Watch Collection including 6 watches. To introduce the new collection worldwide, special trade exhibition kits were developed. They tell about the long tradition and the art of watchmaking of IWC Schaffhausen. The new collection as well as the history of IWC Schaffhausen, beginning with the company’s establishment by American watchmaker F.A. Jones, were presented. There has already been a guild of watchmakers in Schaffhausen by 1583. Thus, Schaffhausen is almost 20 years ahead of the watchmaking centre of Geneva. F.A. Jones trying his luck in 1868 not in the west but rather in the east of Switzerland can undoubtly be attributed to the watchmaking knowledge amassed there. The exhibition kits consist of two theme-walls, a road-show-wall, 7 showcases and 4 banners.
