In March 1952, the 300 SL prototype - forerunner of all subsequent Mercedes-Benz SL generations - was presented to a selected group of journalists at a motorway service station between Stuttgart and Heilbronn. That same year, the 300 SL won a number of major international motor racing events - Mille Miglia, Le Mans, Carrera Panamericana - to name a few. The era of the legendary SL sports car had begun. The exhibition was divided into four thematic areas - Motor Racing, Innovation, Design and World of SL - and tells the trailblazing story of the SL, using selected vintage SLs and plenty of illustrations.
