The exhibition Radical Subjective. The Collection of Osthaus Museum Hagen displays a unique selection of paintings, woodcuts and other works on paper dated from 1905 to 1927.
The selection includes works of all important members of the artistic groups “Die Brücke” and “Der Blaue Reiter”, like Ernst-Ludwig Kirchner, Emil Nolde, August Macke, Franz Marc, Alexej von Jawlensky and many more. Therefore, the show provides a profound insight into the colourful and expressive works of these young individualists, who revolutionized the iconographic conventions with the aid of their radical subjectiveness.
